Now you can go directly to one city to the other without going up and then down again in the other side of the Parana river. I also think that the construction of the bridge should have drastically change the view, before it was a flat landscape, now in is a flat landscape BEHIND a tall, large structure completelly different fom nature. It is somthin that "start" in the land rises up way too tall and then comes down again. I think, leaving appart the fact that is a structure that brokes with the old landscape, it also respected because is like it start in one sideat the level of the ground and the finish at the other side at the level of the ground (Such as every bridge)

MONTREAL

I've never went to Montreal. You enter the house in what would be internally the circulation space in the inferior and superior floors. The circulation space is long and goes from star to finish of the house, connecting the floors by a staircase.

Talking about the spaces themselves, there are dispose at one side of the circulation, starting (in the lower floor) with the service room, kitchen, dinning room and finally the living room; and in the upper floor: two rooms, the family room and two more rooms. The interior and exterior spaces are always linked by the big openings that let, in the lower spaces, to go out almost at any time. And, as in most of houses, the formal spaces are in the main floor, and the informal spaces (rooms, and family room) in the upper floor. Is important to say, that in the lower floor, the spaces are not divided by walls but by levels (except for the service-kitchen area) which creates a certain rhythm that is remarked by the columns that are in the space.

RHYTHM AND RITUAL: A MOTIVE FOR DESIGN

After fighting with my blog for almost half an hour, I can finally post my blog about the Rhythm and Ritual reading. Something that I've always pay attentio whe I'm projecting my works, is the game of light and shadow the building will experience, but I've never realize how in countries that experince the four seasons (in contrast to us), this game of shadow and light will influence so much in their daily life. They can change the place to eat according to the season!. We, instead, change our places to be according mostly to the daytime. We also experience a lightly change of the sunrays directions troughout the year, but is way to "insignificat" like to change our place to eat.

The rituals the author wrote about is not, as I imagine, religious ones. We have our rituals: sleeping at one time, having breakfast in the kitchen, and dinner in the dinning room... They'll depend and change in every family and person. But maybe we have those rituals in fluenced by some other factors but our feelings, and we never realize that until someone talks us about them. For example I remember changing my bed position because the morning sunlight was inclement trough my window, since I move it the first time, ever time I move it, I take in consideration the position of the window.

Cora's Presentation

I just saw Cora's presentation (only the slides, because I didn't saw it live), and I get to know the Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A., and the Davis Symphony Hall in San Francisco, both in the States and which I didn't knew. She talked about the Sydney Opera House, but I already knew it. But of the three, the one I like it the most, was the Walt Disney Concert Hall by Frank Gehry. Why? Not because it belongs to Walt Disney, but because of the game of light, space and form created by the architect. The effect created by the the light and shadow reflected on tha shiny stainless steel, makes you fell like you are pare of the whole structure, like (as she said) you are inmerse in a sculpture, a beautifull one I may say. It is more like a 3D graphic designed, adapted to be a concert hall. It is good to know that I wanted at first to study graphyc design, and then a end here in architecture for many reasons (and I like it), but I'll do future studys in that area. So I take great look at the graphyc and color desgns, the light and the game with it. That is why I like the most the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

New

Testing...
